Frederick & Louisa Pesold
McKendree Music Conservatory
• • •
Frederick and Louisa (Reinhardt) Pesold purchased the home in 1897, running both a successful jewelry store and starting the music conservatory for McKendree as Fred, his son Arnold, daughters Otilia, Irene, and Julia all taught music for McKendree after the family implemented the music program. Arnold was a performer around the world as well as a composer, with McKendree’s Boys March being a local favorite.
The family is given much credit for impacting Lebanon as adding additional buildings still standing today along the Brick Street named both Pesold and Reinhardt.
The Pesolds were touted as being descendants of Bach, however, research points in a more interesting path of their ancestors having been composers which Bach “borrowed” from! See the link below for those details! (Think Minuet in G major)
